FloDesk is out of Beta

FULL DISCLOSURE: I no longer use FloDesk myself, BUT this post is still full of helpful insights for those who are interested. Read this post if you want to find out why I left FloDesk and read this one too if you want to compare 5 of the most popular options.
Email lists are still very important for businesses and there's no sign that their importance will dwindle anytime soon. There's a reason most successful businesses have one & recommend building one, and you can read about why email lists are still a necessary part of online business (& why you should have one) here.
If you're on the fence about which service to try, one of your options –one of the most popular for new business owners, FloDesk is finally out of Beta!
Every other email marketing platform I've ever heard of charges on a tiered payment system based on emails you send out and the size of your subscriber list, but FloDesk isn't doing that. 🤯
For comparison sake, so you can see real numbers (as of mid-2022):
at $38/mo paid annually to FloDesk will cost you $418/yr for unlimited everything: emails, forms & subscribers for the lifetime of your active paid subscription.
ConvertKit's cheapest plan will currently run you $29/mo or $300/year, and that price goes up as you grow your list, which is kinda like... the whole point of having one, right? 😂
Please Note: FloDesk isn't a fit for all business types; it tends to be the best fit for new businesses. While they are highly unique in the style of what they offer, their features are more limited than other options out there. I’ve since moved to ConvertKit, which you can read about over here, but if FloDesk is the better fit for you then you need to know about the upcoming pricing & feature changes so you can slide into this deal before it’s gone forever.
With my affiliate code DAMN50* you can get 50% off that price for your first year anytime. After your first year, your plan will renew at the current rate.
Here are the As for your Qs.
FloDesk is out of Beta: what changed?
What’s included in the plan?
FloDesk says its unlimited everything, because “We like to keep it simple. Flat rate. Unlimited everything, forever. You’ll never be penalized for successfully growing your list again.”
Unlimited emails, subscribers, forms & workflow automations
Access to our template galleries of emails, workflows & forms

What if you already have a FloDesk plan?
My affiliate code only works for new subscriber accounts, for their first year.
Did I lock in Beta pricing as a current customer?
Yes, if you signed up for a paid account before Nov. 2021, you’re paying their Beta pricing rate and that is intended to last for the life of your account, as far as I’m aware. Only subscribers who signed up after they launched out of Beta will have pricing changes.
FloDesk said, “…$19/month beta pricing is yours forever as long as your current email subscription is active.”
How can you make your plan pay for itself?
Affiliate program:
Over the lifetime of my paid FloDesk subscription, I collected about $400 in affiliate payouts just from simple blog posts like this one and sharing my affiliate code where it would be genuinely wanted & helpful. Since leaving FloDesk for ConvertKit (which I’ve tried to be very transparent about), I still recommend FloDesk to people who don’t need the bells & whistles of ConvertKit, so I still get affiliate payouts because I still have an account with FloDesk, though it’s not an active subscription anymore.
People love FloDesk! My clients who are brand new to email marketing love it too. If you have the right audience who wants beautiful email marketing, FloDesk is a fantastic option, and it’s easy to share things we love & believe in. If you choose to use that to your advantage, then you could definitely make your affiliate income offset the cost of using the tool, at the very least.
Ask your subscribers to buy:
Don’t forget that your subscribers may actually want something you sell, so you can occasionally ask them to buy something from you without offending them! 😂 That’s the idea with all email marketing apps, from FloDesk, ConvertKit, Active Campaign, Drip, MailerLite, Mailchimp, and more.
In this case, you might feel like you’re paying out the nose each month/year for your email marketing software, but your list size is worth much more because the average conversion rate for “cold leads” (or people that aren’t familiar with you/your brand yet) is just 1-2% on average. The average conversion rate for people on your email list is typically higher than that. So if you ask for a sale from your subscribers, you are more likely to get a higher percentage of sales, and that’s what offsets the cost, –in addition to taking advantage of the affiliate program.
How do you become a FloDesk affiliate?
Once you’re a paid subscriber of FloDesk you’ll have a discount code available in your account menu (which you can customize, like mine) to share with anyone. Anyone who uses that code to get a paid subscription of FloDesk will earn you a one-time payout of $19 at no extra cost to the person signing up.
What if FloDesk isn’t the right fit?
If you’re not sure which email marketing app to choose, or if you’re like me & drawn to FloDesk’s GORGEOUS user interface, but know you need more power, then you should do a bit of research first to help you decide which option will be the best fit for you.
I genuinely loved using FloDesk while I had it (for about 2 years), but I did finally reach a point where I needed more control over my list organization & automation which FloDesk had no plans for yet. That’s just me though, so I can’t tell you what’s the best decision for you and your business.
If this is you, check out this post where I’m comparing FloDesk, MailerLite, and ConvertKit and why I left FloDesk over here. No need to take advantage of the FloDesk deal if you’re not sure you’ll be sticking around.
But at the same time, if you know you could use it for a few years before you’d have to switch to something else, then DO it, because it could legit save you money (& probably even frustration) during that time. –And who doesn’t love to save money? (And tech-troubleshooting-induced headaches?)
You can also compare 5 popular email marketing platforms (only 4 of which do I actually recommend) over here!
